Post your job and trades who join will see it. Never more than 3 trades get your details.
Post your jobWhat to put in your job description
- Every job on your list, one per line: a shelf, a curtain pole, a flat-pack wardrobe, a dripping tap.
- What you have already bought, and what they should bring.
- Anything high up or heavy.
- When you'll be in.
- Whether there is waste to take away.
Don't put your name, phone number or address in the description: every trade who covers your area reads it. Your name, phone, email and address go only to the trades who take the job (3 at most).
Questions to ask before you hire
- Is the price per hour, per job or for the whole list?
- Is there a minimum charge?
- Which jobs on my list should go to a registered gas engineer or electrician instead?
- Will you take away packaging and waste?
- Do you have public liability insurance?
Registers and schemes to check
There is no register for handymen. Gas work must be done by an engineer on the Gas Safe Register, and a lot of electrical work by an electrician in a competent person scheme, so leave those jobs to them. We don't check this for you yet.
Your council in Bournemouth
Your local council deals with rubbish and bulky waste collections, and with planning if the job changes the outside of your home. For most of Bournemouth that is BCP Council; a postcode at the edge may be in a neighbouring council's area.
We take jobs from BH1, BH2, BH3, BH4, BH5, BH6, BH7, BH8, BH9, BH10, BH11 for Bournemouth. Trades choose the districts they cover.

Fair questions
How many handymen get my details?
3 at most. Handymen who cover your area see the job first, without your name, phone, email or address. Only the first 3 who take it get your details, for this job only.
Which postcodes count as Bournemouth?
We use the postcode districts of the Bournemouth post town: BH1, BH2, BH3, BH4, BH5, BH6, BH7, BH8, BH9, BH10, BH11. Trades choose the districts they cover, and a job goes to trades who cover its district.
Do you check handymen?
Not yet. There is no register for handymen. Gas work must be done by an engineer on the Gas Safe Register, and a lot of electrical work by an electrician in a competent person scheme, so leave those jobs to them. We don't check this for you yet.
Is it free?
Yes, for homeowners. Trades pay us a monthly plan to see jobs and contact homeowners.
